THE BALLAD OF SERRAVALLE Theatrical performance Direction, music and interpretation by Alberto Olinteo and Gregorio Righetti Introduction by Lorena Gava Theatrical adaptation of Michele Vespini's historical novel "The Ballad of Niccolò da Serravalle" published by Kellermann editore. An epic and entertaining tale in two voices between reality and fantasy that takes its cue from the real events that happened in Serravalle, such as the sacking by the Venetians and Fregonese in 1509 and the catastrophic flood of 1521. The son of a Serravalle swordsman is the protagonist of this tale between the comic and the dramatic. Young Niccolò Scarpis traverses this turbulent period of our history, when the terrible mercenary Lansquenets and Spaniards, in the pay of Maximilian I of Habsburg, came down from the north like a lava flow, passing through Serravalle as well, scourged not only by men but also by nature.
